Kuala Lumpur – Singapore High Speed Rail

The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR is a strategic project between the Governments of Malaysia and Singapore that aims to facilitate a 90-minute travel time between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
The project is expected to enhance business linkages and bring the people of both countries closer together. As part of the next phase in project preparation, the Governments of Malaysia and Singapore have tasked MyHSR and SG HSR respectively to implement the project.
On 31 May 2020, Singapore has, in the spirit of bilateral cooperation agreed to Malaysia’s proposal to extend the suspension period of the Kuala Lumpur – Singapore HSR project by another seven months until 31 December 2020.
On 1 January 2021, Singapore and Malaysia announced the termination of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail Project.
